DPF Removal
DPF replacement or removal is a highly cost effective solution to the problem which may be restricting your car from reaching its true potential. Left unattended, DPF issues may result in a buildup of soot eventually forming a blockage. Minimum cost for DPF replacement is £1200 and you could be looking at anywhere up to £1600 to amend this issue. Damage caused will spill across to other engine components, further ramping up costs and potentially overheating the exhaust system which could be a fire risk. Once your vehicle reaches this point it will likely take itself into ‘safety mode’ resulting in highly restricted levels of power. DPF removal will help to counteract these issues.
Regeneration is an important aspect when your car is fitted with a DPF and in order to maintain this it should be driven regularly at a decent speed. If you drive a diesel engine and are using your vehicle primarily in urban areas during short bursts then regeneration may not occur. It is recommended between 15 and 30 minutes of driving over 40mph at least once a month will keep everything in order.
